He is a rookie member of Public Safety Special Division 4, distinguished by his short black hair and standard suit. He often works alongside another unnamed hunter with a facial scar, representing the ordinary human element within a team dominated by fiends and eccentrics. He approaches his job with a rational mindset, which quickly proves to be a disadvantage in the chaotic world of devil hunting.

He joins the squad during the mission to locate the Gun Devil's flesh at the Morino Hotel. When the Eternity Devil traps the team in an endless loop on the eighth floor, he succumbs to severe anxiety and panic. He witnesses the three-day battle where the chainsaw hybrid cannibalizes the devil to survive, an experience that exposes him to the sheer madness required to excel in the division.

Following the conclusion of the hotel incident, he decides that the psychological toll and physical danger are too high. He visits Makima in her office to formally submit his resignation, admitting that he is not cut out for the work. He leaves the organization immediately, choosing a safe civilian life and successfully avoiding the violent deaths that later befall the rest of the unit.
