While the boys are having a snowball fight a short distance away, the Gun Devil strikes the area. The immense shockwave destroys the entire house instantly. He is killed alongside his wife, his body obliterated by the impact before he even realizes what is happening. His death leaves Aki as an orphan and fuels the boy's lifelong vendetta against the Gun Devil.
