Sister Lily Aquaria is a nun who serves at the church in Hage Village, acting as a mother figure to the orphans, including Asta and Yuno. She possesses Water Magic and is kind, patient, and deeply devoted to her faith. For years, she gently rejects Asta’s repeated marriage proposals, supporting his dream of becoming the Wizard King while keeping him grounded.

Her peaceful life is shattered in the final arc when Lucius Zogratis, the Wizard King Julius's other soul, arrives at the church. Lucius uses his Soul Magic to manipulate her soul, forcibly transforming her into a "Paladin." Under his control, her personality is erased, and she gains a massive boost in power, capable of wielding Spatial Magic alongside her Water Magic.

As a Paladin, Lily fights against Asta without hesitation, claiming it is for the sake of "true peace." She nearly kills him before teleporting him away to the Land of the Sun. Later, Asta confronts her again and uses his Anti-Magic to break Lucius's control. Lily returns to her senses, weeping and apologizing for her actions before fainting from the strain.
