Shinji is a freshman in Karakura High School. Shinji is a small teenage boy with brown hair. He has large brown eyes and wears the school kendo uniform. Shinji is initially a coward, however, thanks to Ikkaku Madarame, he is able to gain enough courage to avenge the defeat of his seniors. While Shinji trains, Ikkaku noted that Shinji’s eyes burned with the desire to become stronger.
