Ggio Vega enters the battle for the Fake Karakura Town as a subordinate of the Second Espada, Baraggan Louisenbairn. He selects Captain Soi Fon as his primary opponent, engaging her in a high-speed duel. Throughout the early exchange, he taunts the captain, using his immense speed and hand-to-hand combat skills to keep her on the defensive.

Pushing the fight further, Ggio releases his Zanpakuto, "Tigre Estoque." This transformation grants him a more muscular, tiger-like appearance and blades attached to his limbs. He manages to pin Soi Fon against a barrier and escalates his power to its maximum level, transforming into a bulkier form known as "Tigre Estoque El Sable" to deliver a crushing final blow.

His advantage is cut short when Soi Fon reveals she was only fighting defensively to analyze his movements. Before Ggio can land his attack, she outmaneuvers him and strikes the same spot on his chest twice with her Shikai, Suzumebachi. The ability's effect triggers instantly, killing him on the spot before his body hits the ground.
