Lumina and Verona appear in the Hueco Mundo arc as the Fracción of Gantenbainne Mosqueda. They are nearly identical, round-bodied Arrancars who function as a duo. The only visual difference between them is their hair: Lumina has a single braid sticking up, while Verona wears his hair in pigtails.

During the invasion of Las Noches, they follow Gantenbainne to intercept Yasutora Sado. Instead of fighting, they stay on the sidelines to provide moral support. They act as commentators during the duel, cheering for their master and panicking whenever Sado lands a heavy blow.

Their role ends abruptly when the Espada Aaroniero Arruruerie arrives on the scene after the battle. Looking to replenish his spirit pressure, Aaroniero suddenly grabs Lumina and devours him whole. Verona is left standing alone, watching in horror as his partner is consumed.
