Aruru is the youngest girl living at the orphan church in Hage Village. Raised by Father Orsi and Sister Lily, she grows up alongside Asta and Yuno, viewing them as her big brothers. She spends her days playing with the other orphans, Holo and Nash, living a quiet life far from the dangerous battles of the Royal Capital.

Her safety is threatened during the Elf Reincarnation arc when a possessed Magic Knight attacks their village. The knight surrounds the church with poisonous plants, trapping Aruru and her family inside. Too young to fight or use magic effectively, she is cornered and terrified until Asta arrives just in time to dispel the poison and defeat the attacker.

In the final arc, Aruru witnesses the arrival of Lucius Zogratis at their home. She watches in shock as her caretaker, Sister Lily, is forcibly transformed into a Paladin and turns against them. Despite the destruction of the church, Aruru survives the assault, staying close to the injured Father Orsi as they try to recover from the tragedy.
