Oden Kozuki is the former Daimyo of the Kuri region in Wano Country and the son of the former Shogun. He is recognized by his massive stature, wild hair styled into a large circular topknot, and the thick nio-suki rope he wears as a belt. He acts with impulsive recklessness, frequently breaking the isolationist laws of his nation to attempt illegal sea voyages. He possesses a charisma that draws criminals and outcasts to his side, eventually reforming the lawless Kuri zone into a thriving province.

He wields two Great Grade swords, Enma and Ame no Habakiri, utilizing a self-taught combat method known as Oden Two-Sword Style. He possesses immense physical strength and mastery over advanced armament haki, allowing him to cut through mountain-sized beasts and clash with the strongest pirates on the ocean. During his confrontation with the Emperor Kaido, he delivers a devastating cross-shaped strike that leaves a permanent scar on the dragon's chest, proving he is one of the few individuals capable of injuring the invincible creature.

He leaves Wano to travel the world, sailing first with Whitebeard and later with Gol D. Roger to reach the final island and learn the true history of the world. Upon returning home to find his country usurped by Orochi and Kaido, he spends five years dancing naked in the streets to prevent the execution of kidnapped citizens. He meets his end during the Legendary Hour, where he holds a wooden plank carrying his nine retainers above a pot of boiling oil for sixty minutes, saving their lives before dying with a smile in the flames.
