Salim Hapshass is a noble from the Clover Kingdom and a member of the Golden Dawn squad. He possesses Lightning Magic and holds a deep-seated arrogance due to his high social status. He holds a specific grudge against Yuno, resenting that a peasant with a four-leaf grimoire outshined him during the Magic Knights Entrance Exam.

Salim invites Yuno to visit his hometown of Hage under the pretense of a friendly tour. However, this is a trap. Once they are away from the capital, Salim attacks Yuno, intending to humiliate him and prove the superiority of the nobility. He unleashes his most powerful lightning spells, expecting an easy victory against a commoner.

His plan backfires completely. Yuno remains calm and effortlessly counters Salim's magic with his Wind Magic, defeating the noble without sustaining any injuries. The defeat shatters Salim's pride. He is not seen again in the main story, his failure serving as an early example of how skill and mana matter more than bloodline in the Magic Knights.
