Kelly Funk is a gladiator who competes in the Corrida Colosseum tournament for the Mera Mera no Mi. He fights alongside his younger, larger brother, Bobby Funk. Kelly is an arrogant and aggressive boxer, but his true strength lies in his Devil Fruit, the Jacket-Jacket Fruit (Jake Jake no Mi), which allows him to turn into a wearable jacket.

During the Battle Royale in Block C, Kelly initially struggles against the tougher opponents. However, he reveals his secret strategy by transforming into a jacket and forcing his pacifist brother Bobby to wear him. This fusion combines Kelly’s aggressive personality and boxing skills with Bobby’s immense physical durability and strength, allowing them to overpower minor competitors like Boo.

Their dominance is short-lived. The fused Funk Brothers attempt to attack Sai of the Happo Navy. Sai, unimpressed by their gimmick, easily dodges their attacks and defeats them with a single kick, knocking them out of the tournament. Later, Kelly is deceived by Doflamingo's clone and brutally beaten, ending his involvement in the arc.
