Taroimo is a cyborg dog living on Karakuri Island, also known as the "Future Country of Baldimore," the birthplace of Dr. Vegapunk. He is the loyal pet of the young boy Kitton and his grandfather. Visually, he represents the island's advanced technological culture, fitted with mechanical upgrades including a red digital visor and a projectile weapon mounted on his back.

During the Straw Hats' separation arc, When Franky was sent to the snowy island by Bartholomew Kuma, Taroimo was one of the first "locals" he encountered. The dog and his owners initially hunted Franky, mistaking the cyborg pirate for a wild beast or a threat. Later, Taroimo lived alongside Franky while the shipwright spent two years studying Vegapunk's old blueprints and modifying his own body.

Since Franky rejoined the crew, Taroimo has remained on Karakuri Island with his family. He has appeared briefly in the "From the Decks of the World" cover stories, where he is seen wearing a new "BF-37" logo on his side—a tribute to Franky's new model number—showing that the family still remembers their pirate friend fondly.
