Diesel is an officer of the Big Mom Pirates and a member of the Longarm Tribe. He has a distinct train-themed design, wearing a tall hat that resembles a smokestack and often mimicking the sounds and movements of a steam locomotive. While he is not a high-ranking commander, his immense stamina and running speed make him a useful courier and transport unit for the crew.

He played a notable supporting role during the Whole Cake Island arc, where he was stationed in the Mirro-World alongside Charlotte Brûlée. He was initially responsible for pulling Brûlée's carriage through the mirror dimension. However, things went south when Chopper and Carrot invaded their domain; despite his confidence in his speed, Diesel was easily outrun by Carrot, captured, and forced to transport the Straw Hats around the mirror network to help them execute their counter-attack.

Following the Straw Hats' escape, Diesel traveled with the Big Mom Pirates to Wano Country aboard the Queen Mama Chanter. However, he never made it to the battlefield; the ship was knocked off the waterfall entrance twice—first by King and later by Marco. Consequently, Diesel and the other officers aboard were left stranded and played no role in the war on Onigashima.
