Golden Ball is an A-Class hero and the regular partner of fellow hero Spring Mustachio, pairing his own long-range attacks with Spring Mustachio's close-range swordsmanship. A tall man with blond hair and a brown goatee, he's rarely seen without a lollipop in his mouth — a habit he picked up after quitting smoking — and wears a letterman's jacket bearing his hero name.
His weapon of choice is a specialized slingshot fitted with a laser sight, firing shape-memory-metal balls with enough force to pierce steel and precise enough to ricochet off multiple surfaces before hitting their target, a technique he calls Golden Breakout. Confident to a fault, he often insists he doesn't need to prepare for a fight — though he's shown a craftier side too, such as feigning drunkenness to bait Garou into a one-on-one confrontation.
A lean, athletic young man with short dark hair mostly hidden under a light-colored beanie, rarely seen without a lollipop in his mouth. Wears a dark varsity/letterman jacket with light sleeves, his name embroidered on the left breast.
Confident, declaring outright he won’t run from a monster fight, but genuinely laid-back off duty and openly annoyed when combat cuts into his drinking time. Shares an easy, bantering, fully synced professional partnership with Spring Mustachio.
Rose to Class A Rank 29, regarded as one of the Association’s most capable scouts and investigators, long paired with Spring Mustachio for jobs tracking rumors of dangerous monsters in abandoned urban zones.
Investigates City Z’s Ghost Town with Spring Mustachio and is skewered and hospitalized by Kombu Infinity after his shots get slapped aside. While recovering, he’s visited by Saitama. Later, while drinking at a bar, he’s tracked down by Garou (who studied his habits via a Hero Guidebook); despite fighting back hard with ricocheting shots even while intoxicated, Garou eventually closes the distance and brutally defeats him.
Superhuman precision marksmanship with a gold tactical slingshot and heavy ball-bearing ammunition, including the piercing “Golden Break” shot and the ability to saturate tight spaces with ricocheting projectiles from unpredictable angles. Vulnerable once a fast, S-Class-caliber opponent closes to melee range.
vs. Kombu Infinity — Ch. 20
Ambushed the monster in an alley. Lost — reinforcing City Z's “Powerful Shadow” rumor.
vs. Garou — Ch. 51
Ran into Garou in a parking lot after a night out drinking. Lost — just another successful hunt for the Hero Hunter against a ranked Class A hero.
Major: Ch. 20, 51. Minor: Ch. 21, 34, 37. Mentioned only: Ch. 38, 52, 110.
Spring Mustachio: closest ally and near-constant partner. Garou: the enemy who studied and defeated him. Saitama: a fellow hospital patient he has no idea is actually far stronger than him.
“If we run into a monster, I’m not running away.”
“Fine, tough guy. There’s a parking lot nearby. Let’s fight there.”
One of the few heroes shown attempting to fight while visibly drunk — Garou himself notes it slowed his reactions. Widely popular with fans despite his losses to top-tier threats.
