Shibabawa was a renowned fortune teller based in G-City, famous for predicting disasters with 100% accuracy — down to their exact timing. She only ever foresaw a handful of events, and plenty of disasters slipped past her entirely, but her track record was reliable enough that the Hero Association gave her special treatment, including a personal escort.
An old woman with white hair, long fingernails, thin eyebrows, sunken cheeks, and few remaining teeth, she is introduced to the story already dead — she choked on a cough drop moments after delivering her final and most dire prophecy: that a catastrophe beyond Dragon-level would strike Earth within half a year. Her death and that prophecy are revealed to the S-Class heroes in the Chapter 31 meeting, setting up one of the story's long-running mysteries.
An elderly woman with a deeply wrinkled face, a sharp hooked nose, and long grey/white hair. Wears a dark, patterned headscarf and a thick beaded necklace, and is often shown with a large crystal ball used for divination.
Professionally dedicated to her role right up to her final moment — even mid-accident, her last act was writing down a warning for humanity. Visibly agitated whenever her visions turned dark.
A legendary figure in Hero Association history: the only seer on record with a 100% prediction accuracy rate, having provided reliable early warnings on earthquakes and monster strikes for years, letting the Association prepare and dispatch heroes ahead of disasters.
While attempting to divine six months into the future, she becomes extremely agitated and reaches for a cough drop to soothe her throat — and chokes on it, dying instantly, having scrawled only “The Earth is in Trouble!!” before passing. Sitch summons the S-Class to relay her death and final warning, directly setting up the Alien Invasion arc that follows. Years later, the Monster Association’s Psychos references her as the benchmark she hopes to surpass with her own precognitive “Third Eye.”
Absolute Clairvoyance ("Third Eye"): perfect-accuracy foresight covering natural disasters, seismic activity, and monster incursions. Notably, this power could not save her from her own accidental death.
The Final Prophecy — Ch. 31
Choked on a medicinal lozenge while trying to divine the next six months. Her death confirmed just how serious that final vision really was — the Association realized she'd died mid-warning about something of unprecedented scale.
Major: Ch. 31 (death, in flashback). Minor: Ch. 197 (news broadcast). Mentioned only: Ch. 32, 40, 108, 142, 209, 214, 220.
The Hero Association: her primary client, relying on her as their earliest-warning system. Sitch: held the most faith in her, and was most shaken by her final message. Psychos: a later antagonist who treats her as a professional benchmark to surpass.
“The Earth is in Trouble!!” — her final, scrawled note
The only character in the series officially stated to have a 100% prophecy accuracy rate. Her death — the world’s greatest seer, undone by a cough drop — is one of the series’ sharper dark-comedy beats.
