Superalloy Darkshine is an S-Class Rank 11 hero and, by hero-community consensus, the most physically fit member of S-Class — a large, bald, extremely muscular man whose durability and raw strength put him ahead of nearly every other hero in the Association on toughness alone.
Despite his imposing build, he's level-headed and genuinely dislikes conflict between heroes, often trying to mediate during S-Class meetings full of clashing egos. He's not without vanity, though — during one such meeting he's shown privately wondering whether the rest of the room's eyes were on him, and whether he was the shiniest person present.
A massive, completely bald man with an extraordinarily developed, high-gloss metallic-sheen muscular build. As a child he was small, pale, and frail with a thick head of black hair — his current dark shine is the product of extreme physical conditioning, not natural ethnicity. Wears only small black swim trunks as a hero; as a Neo Heroes trainer, a tight black t-shirt with a white star and white athletic shorts.
Narcissistic, overconfident, and gentle outside combat, with a habit of flexing to "ease the nerves" of people around him. Fights purely to validate his own hard work, preferring easy, low-risk victories — a mindset that becomes his undoing once he meets opponents that actually threaten him. His real weakness is psychological, not physical: he lacks the "spiritual muscle" for genuine life-or-death stakes.
A frail, timid child who lost constantly at simple games like tag. Asked for 3kg dumbbells on his 15th birthday and trained with them daily without fail, gradually scaling up over years until his body and confidence transformed completely. Started his hero career at rock bottom (Class C, Rank 383) before being recognized as a founding "rare talent" of the new S-Class.
Effortlessly one-shots the monster Bug God during the Monster Association raid, reinforcing his reputation as the S-Class’s ultimate defensive wall. Encounters Garou underground and initially tries to mentor him as a "wasted" physical talent — but as Garou’s power evolves mid-fight, Darkshine suffers a total psychological collapse despite taking no real physical damage, realizing he’d only ever loved the thrill of easy wins. Later confronted by Golden Spermatozoon, who mocks and overpowers him outright, leaving him weeping and admitting he’s "scared to fight again." Retires from the Hero Association afterward and joins the Neo Heroes as a trainer, still visibly shaken by any mention of real threats.
Superalloy Physique: muscles dense enough to function as natural armor, capable of shattering an attacker’s bones on contact. Superalloy Bazooka / Missile / Double Bazooka: named punch and tackle techniques capable of pulverizing Dragon-level threats. Shining Muscles: intimidation via reflective, metallic-looking skin when tensed. Weakness: severe psychological fragility — once his physical shell is bypassed, or he faces a genuinely uncertain fight, he suffers panic attacks and total combat paralysis.
vs. Bug God — Ch. 94
Took a full flurry of blows standing completely still, then answered with one strike that ended it — the fight that cemented him as the S-Class's ultimate defensive wall.
vs. Garou — Ch. 126–129
An underground grudge match. Darkshine dominated early, but Garou's evolution started punching through his defenses in real time — a defeat that broke him mentally before his body ever gave out, exposing how much of his confidence was built on narcissism.
vs. Golden Spermatozoon — Ch. 158
A short confrontation on the surface where Golden Spermatozoon mocked his "shine" and his strength. Left him in tears, unable to keep fighting — the moment that pushed him into retirement.
Major: Ch. 32, 94, 126–129, 158, 201. Minor: Ch. 31, 37, 38, 44, 93, 112, 171, 186. Mentioned only: Ch. 122, 191.
Garou: the "nightmare" who broke his spirit, whom he still fears. Puri-Puri Prisoner: a fellow muscle specialist and mutual respect. Raiden: a legendary sumo wrestler and fellow Neo Hero leader he respects. Captain Mizuki: an admirer he mentored briefly before his own breakdown. Saitama: one of the few heroes who recognized his real strength, despite underestimating him at first. Metal Bat: a fellow former S-Class hero now also with the Neo Heroes.
“I’m just in love with my own strength! And that’s nothing to be proud of!”
“I simply... cannot face it. I’m scared to fight again.”
The only known hero to climb from the very bottom of Class C (Rank 383) to the top of Class S (Rank 11) through pure physical training alone. His famous "shine" is just muscle density and skin conditioning, not a literal superpower.
