Tanktop Black Hole is a B-Class hero, Rank 81, and a member of the Tank Topper Army alongside his younger brother Tanktop Tiger. A large, well-built man with short black hair and a simple tank-top-and-pants costume, he's ambitious and openly self-serving, with a strong drive for fame and recognition that he and his brother tend to encourage in each other.
He frequently boasts about a 200-kilogram grip strength, but his actual combat results rarely live up to the claim, and he's shown to be stubborn about accepting that lower-ranked heroes could accomplish what he can't — such as doubting a C-Class hero's ability to stop an incoming meteor. Despite the bravado, he's capable of rallying a crowd and commands real loyalty from the heroes under him.
A tall, exceptionally muscular man with short spiky dark hair, thick bushy eyebrows, and a near-permanent sneer. Wears a plain black tank top with dark combat trousers and heavy boots — Saitama once dryly noted his whole "Black Hole" persona amounts to "a man in a black tank top."
Arrogant, manipulative, and quick to intimidate anyone he brands a "rookie" — but genuinely cowardly once actual superior power shows itself. Skilled at reading and inciting a crowd’s emotions for his own benefit, and, per Bang’s blunt assessment, more interested in publicity stunts than real heroism.
Promoted to Class B within Tanktop Master’s faction, acting as a senior figure and informal protector for his younger brother, Tanktop Tiger.
After the City Z meteor incident, joins his brother in publicly branding Saitama a fraud, turning a crowd of newly homeless citizens against him and attempting to crush Saitama’s arm with his signature 200kg grip — only to be terrified into retreat once the crowd disperses and Saitama’s indifference makes clear how outmatched he is. Later joins the group effort defending Tanktop Master against Garou and is effortlessly defeated, ending up hospitalized alongside the rest of the faction. Implied to remain an Association member after the Monster Association war, though at an unspecified rank.
Class B-level physical strength headlined by a signature 200-kilogram crushing grip, plus the raw-power-focused “Tanktop” melee style. No formal martial arts training or high-speed reflexes — he couldn’t even track Garou’s movements.
vs. Saitama — Ch. 22
Tried to frame Saitama and physically subdue him in front of a crowd. Saitama shrugged off his grip completely and rattled him with nothing but words — a glimpse of the jealousy and corruption simmering in the Association's mid-ranks.
vs. Garou — Ch. 47
Joined the group effort against the Hero Hunter. Beaten unconscious — proof the Tanktop Army's numbers meant nothing against real technical skill.
Major: "Punch" 22. Minor: "Punch" 47, 48. Mentioned only: "Punch" 38, 182.
Tanktop Tiger: his younger brother and partner, sharing a similar opportunistic streak. Tanktop Master: respected as a leader, even though Black Hole’s tactics often clash with the Master’s more genuine heroism. Saitama: viewed as a "stain" on the profession worth eliminating. Garou: the enemy who ended his active streak in the field.
“Did you call, li’l bro?! ...I am the hero known as... Tank-Top Black Hole!”
“You’re a stain on heroes! So we’re gonna wipe you away!”
Bang predicted his obsession with publicity stunts would keep him from ever advancing into Class A — a fairly on-the-nose read of his whole character.
