Tanktop Master

タンクトップマスター

Supporting One Punch Man

Tanktop Master is an S-Class hero and the leader of the Tank Topper Army, a group of tank-top-themed heroes that includes Tanktop Tiger and Tanktop Black Hole among its members. He is a tall, heavily muscular man with short, dark-blond hair, typically shown in a blue tank top, long pants, and a belt buckle engraved with his own initials.

Unlike the brasher, more self-promoting heroes under him, Tanktop Master carries himself with genuine chivalry and humility — he has openly admitted defeat when outclassed rather than saving face, and has shown concern for other heroes' safety even when it isn't his responsibility. Calm, level-headed, and well respected by his peers, he represents the more sincere, old-fashioned side of the Tank Topper Army's hero spirit.

A massive, towering man with an extraordinarily developed physique, short sandy-blond hair, and sharp determined eyes. Wears a tight blue tank top, dark trousers, and a heavy belt buckled with "TTM." After his defeat by Garou, frequently seen with medical tape across the bridge of his nose.

Noble, philosophical, and deeply protective, treating heroism as a spiritual discipline built around the tank top. Genuinely humble for an S-Class hero — openly admits when peers like Tatsumaki or Bang outclass him. His core weakness: pure physical force makes him vulnerable to technical martial artists who redirect strength back at him, exactly as Garou did.

Rose through the ranks to become a pillar of the S-Class, and personally built the Tank-Topper Army into a faction spanning dozens of members across Class A, B, and C.

During the Alien Invasion, throws building debris at the Dark Matter Thieves’ hovering ship with anti-aircraft-level force, then feels outshone when Tatsumaki does the same thing more efficiently with psychic power. Becomes the first S-Class hero to directly confront Garou (to protect his follower Tank-top Vegetarian); initially dominates with his "Tank-top Tackle," but Garou’s Fist of Flowing Water, Crushing Rock parries his strength back at him for a total defeat. Recovers in the hospital alongside Mumen Rider, whom he praises as a "magnificent tank-topper," and shares intel on Garou with visiting Saitama. During the Monster Association War, launches the S-Class strike team toward the base using a transmission tower as a javelin, then is nearly killed by Fuhrer Ugly’s "Full Body Destructin’ Punch" — saved from being eaten by Gums via Pig God, then healed by Fubuki, who notes his tank top’s "elasticity" genuinely helped hold his shattered body together. Later leads a rebuilt Tank-Topper Army in the Neo Heroes era, debuting "Tank-top Deep Breath" to inhale toxic gas and clear a city for evacuation.

Superhuman Strength: can lift and throw multi-ton structures over long distances. Tank-top Tackle / Punch: devastating bulk-driven strikes. Tank-top Deep Breath: loosens his garment to massively expand lung capacity for inhaling toxic hazards. Enhanced Resilience: unusual "elastic" durability that’s helped hold his body together after near-fatal damage. Weakness: highly vulnerable to "soft" martial arts styles that redirect his own force back at him.

vs. Boros's Ship Debris — Ch. 32–37

Threw building-sized chunks of debris to support the aerial fight against the Dark Matter Thieves — a good showcase of his sheer physical scale.

vs. Garou — Ch. 46–47

Power against technique. Garou hospitalized him — proof that raw strength alone doesn't cut it against high-level martial arts.

vs. Fuhrer Ugly — Ch. 142–144

Threw himself in front of his team to shield them from the executive. Left mangled and nearly killed for it — a brutal look at both his self-sacrifice and just how dangerous the Monster Association's executives really were.

Major: "Punch" 37, 46, 47, 134, 142, 144, 226. Minor: "Punch" 32, 48, 49, 151, 153, 172. Mentioned only: "Punch" 95, 122, 191.

The Tank-Topper Army: his devoted followers, treated like family. Mumen Rider: deep mutual respect, forged through shared hospitalization. Garou: his defining defeat, and the moment he learned pure strength has limits. Fubuki: owes her his life after the Fuhrer Ugly near-death. Tatsumaki: a one-sided rivalry that pushed him to train against "superpowers." Bang: respected, though Tanktop Master resents that Bang "trained an evil demon" in Garou.

“A tank top allows ease of motion for twice the power!”
“You’re a magnificent tank-topper who wears his tank top on his heart! That’s more important than any rank!” — to Mumen Rider

His debris-throwing feats during the Alien Invasion were officially classified by Hero Association observers as "anti-aircraft capabilities." Fubuki noted his tank top’s "elasticity" appeared to have an actual biological healing effect, hinting the garment itself may carry some real significance.
