Yonji is extremely arrogant and heartless. Unlike his sister Reiju, his genetic modifications fully stripped him of sorrow and compassion, and he holds nothing but contempt for the weak. He is openly disrespectful toward women — he once tried to pick a fight with a female chef at Germa Castle — a sharp contrast to Sanji’s chivalry, and he leered at Nami with open lechery. He is driven purely by the Vinsmoke name’s glory and Germa’s military expansion.

Yonji was born in the North Blue, one of an identical quadruplet set born to Vinsmoke Judge and Vinsmoke Sora. Before birth, Judge performed bloodline element manipulation on the brothers to engineer them into "ultimate soldiers"; their mother Sora took a drug to try to stop the process, but it only preserved Sanji’s humanity, leaving Yonji and his other brothers emotionless. Growing up, Yonji took part in the systematic bullying of Sanji, whom he saw as a failure for having feelings, as a prince of the world’s only kingdom without fixed land.

Encounter at Sea (Chapter 826)

Yonji met the Straw Hat retrieval team aboard a Germa 66 vessel and mockingly refused medicine to a poisoned Luffy, saying he was not "into helping others."

Germa Castle

Back at Germa’s mobile kingdom, Yonji tried to physically force Sanji into accepting the wedding, leading to an off-screen duel that Sanji won, badly damaging Yonji’s exoskeleton.

The Massacre Plot

Yonji attended Sanji and Pudding’s wedding, where he and his family were restrained by Charlotte Perospero’s candy as the Big Mom Pirates prepared to execute them.

The Counter-Raid

Freed by Sanji and the Straw Hats, Yonji donned his Raid Suit to fight Big Mom’s forces, helping protect the Thousand Sunny as it fled and clashing with Charlotte Oven’s fleet.

Cover Story Capture

After the escape, Yonji and Niji were captured by the Big Mom Pirates and held in Chocolate Town, later rescued by Reiju and Ichiji when a lab fire gave them an opening to escape.

Yonji and his brothers repeatedly beat Sanji as a child for being the "weak" one, abuse that eventually drove him to flee — laying the foundation for the family’s deep trauma.
