Ancient King

Supporting One Punch Man

Ancient King is the leader of the Terror Lizard Clan — a colossal, loosely humanoid creature covered in scales, with horns, sharp teeth, claws, and a reptilian tail, capable of attacking with raw physical force, fire breath, and an energy beam fired from its mouth.

He awakens after 300 million years of dormancy, timing his return specifically to follow the defeats of the other "kings" — the Deep Sea King and Subterranean King among them — apparently intending to claim dominance once his rivals were already out of the way. That plan barely gets off the ground: his confrontation with the S-Class hero Tatsumaki is brief and one-sided, ending when she crushes him under a massive telekinetically hurled rock.

A gargantuan, upright bipedal reptilian creature hundreds of meters tall and thousands of tons in weight, with thick armored dark scales, a row of jagged dorsal fins from head to tail, and a wide, tooth-filled maw. After death, reduced to a smoking, mountain-sized skeleton and mass of flesh.

Extremely arrogant and entitled, dismissing modern human civilization as a temporary infestation that sprang up while he was “napping.” Severely overconfident about his own durability — enough to literally dare an opponent to drop something from space on him.

An ancient lifeform that ruled the Earth’s surface millions of years ago before entering a long hibernation. Woke once he sensed the Subterranean, Sea, and Sky Kings had fallen or moved, believing the surface was finally “unclaimed.”

Appears near an urban center and declares his sovereignty over the surface, shrugging off the Hero Association’s missiles and jet fighters without damage. Tatsumaki is dispatched; he mocks her small stature and boasts that only a falling meteor could hurt him. She immediately yanks an actual meteor from space and slams it into his head, incinerating him instantly. The Association later stations Class C heroes D-Pad and Funeral Suspenders to guard his mountain-sized carcass, quietly using the site to reinforce public trust in its lower ranks.

Gargantuan strength able to level mountains and skyscrapers through mere movement, and durability functionally invulnerable to conventional military weapons. Utterly defenseless against Tatsumaki’s ability to hurl celestial objects at him.

vs. Hero Association Military — Vol. 5 Bonus

Shrugged off jet fighters and missile batteries and forced the entire military response to retreat — a clear sign he was a threat operating way above human means.

vs. Tatsumaki — Vol. 5 Bonus

Challenged her power directly. Decimated by a meteor she pulled down on him — one of the most visually striking demonstrations of just how far S-Class Rank 2 scales.

Major: Volume 5 Bonus Manga, "What Can’t Be Bought." Minor: Ch. 186 (Association records). Mentioned only: Ch. 31 (implicit, "Kings" context).

Terror Lizard Clan: his loyal subordinates. Tatsumaki: the one who ended his reign in a single strike. Subterranean/Deep Sea/Sky Kings: rival monarchs whose defeats he waited for before making his own move. D-Pad & Funeral Suspenders: heroes who unknowingly benefited from the PR fallout of his death.

“I have awakened after millions of years! The Earth belongs to me once again!”
“Unless you can drop a meteor on me, you cannot hope to damage this ancient body!”

A direct visual and thematic homage to Godzilla. His carcass reportedly took months for the Hero Association to fully dismantle and remove.
