Kamakyuri, also known simply as Praying Mantis, is an artificial mutant created by Dr. Genus at the House of Evolution — an advanced, insectoid mutation said to be among the lab's stronger creations. He's encased in a segmented, thorny exoskeleton, with clawed feet and serrated, scythe-like forelegs modeled on a praying mantis, mandibles framing his mouth, and a transparent, reflective patch of skull that exposes his brain underneath.
Sent to help capture Saitama for the House of Evolution's research, Kamakyuri makes his entrance by crashing straight through the roof of Saitama's apartment mid-conversation with Genos. He barely gets past his own introduction before an irritated Saitama — annoyed as much by the property damage as the intrusion — crushes his head with a single punch.
A slender, insectoid humanoid with a praying-mantis build: an elongated head, large bulging compound eyes, segmented chitinous plating, and enormous sickle-like raptorial forearms as his primary weapons.
Confident and aggressive, a true believer in the House of Evolution’s philosophy of engineered biological superiority. Favors stealth and ambush over direct confrontation, and is completely loyal to Dr. Genus — loyalty undone by badly underestimating Saitama’s reflexes.
Originally human, genetically modified into his current form by Dr. Genus at House of Evolution headquarters. No known family beyond his fellow creations.
Dispatched with the strike team sent to capture Saitama, he positions himself on the roof of Saitama’s apartment while Beast King and Armored Gorilla confront the heroes below. He crashes through the ceiling for a surprise decapitation strike — but Saitama, irritated purely by the property damage, punches him dead before he can land a hit or even speak. Dr. Genus later learns via status report that Kamakyuri, Slugerous, and Frog-Man were all wiped out, and is stunned his "elite" team folded so easily.
Sickle-arms sharp enough to slice through reinforced concrete, plus the stealth and strength to burst through structures undetected for a surprise strike. Durability proved far too low to survive contact with Saitama.
vs. Saitama — Ch. 8

Major: Ch. 8. Mentioned only: Ch. 9, 234.
Dr. Genus: his creator and master. Beast King: his strike-team superior. Slugerous & Frog-Man: teammates on the same failed mission. Saitama: his intended target, and killer.
None — killed before he could speak any dialogue.
The first character in the series killed specifically because Saitama was annoyed about property damage rather than any actual threat posed.
