Stinger

スティンガー

Supporting One Punch Man

Stinger is an A-Class hero who joined the Hero Association only half a year before the events of the story and rose quickly into the top 10 of A-Class. A tall, lean young man with spiky black hair, he wears a fitted black suit that resembles wrapped bandages and fights with a large spear.

He makes his mark during the Seafolk's assault on J-City, arriving on the scene to cut the arm off one of the attacking Seafolk and openly challenge them to a fight — an aggressive, confident debut that establishes him as one of the more combat-forward A-Class heroes.

A tall, athletic young man with sharp features and black hair styled into several long, sharp spikes. Wears a dark, form-fitting tactical bodysuit with light shoulder and shin armor, and always carries his signature spear.

Energetic, confident, and image-conscious — a “fan-service” hero who enjoys the spotlight. The Hero Association’s own assessment flags that he “tends to get carried away,” and it shows: he once declared victory over the Seafolk with the Deep Sea King standing right behind him.

Origins unstated. Rose through Hero Association ranks quickly, sitting at Class A Rank 11 before the Deep Sea King incident and moving up to Rank 10 after his recognized efforts in City J.

First responder to the Seafolk invasion of City J, he single-handedly drops ten invaders with his “Gigantic Drill Stinger” — then is immediately one-shot by the Deep Sea King and needs rescuing. Later joins Death Gatling’s tactical team to ambush Garou in a forest hideout; Garou exploits his aggression, uses him as a human shield against friendly fire, and knocks him out. Later listed among the 15 surface support fighters during the Monster Association raid.

Elite spear technique built around rapid, near-unstoppable thrust flurries, backed by Class A Rank 10 physical stats. Tactically aware enough to use terrain and coordinate with allies’ fire support — when he isn’t getting carried away.

vs. Seapeople — City J

Took on the Seafolk vanguard alone and killed ten of them with his Gigantic Drill Stinger, cementing his name as a serious Class A threat.

vs. Deep Sea King

Ran straight into the Seafolk King right after that win. One-shotted and hospitalized.

vs. Garou

Part of the 8-man ambush on the Hero Hunter — tried to skewer Garou while he was distracted, but Garou turned the tables and used him as a human shield against Death Gatling's gunfire.

Major: Ch. 24, 25, 26, 81, 82. Minor: Ch. 28, 93, 137. Mentioned only: Ch. 38, 48, 114, 186.

Lightning Max: close peer, fellow Deep Sea King victim, frequent hospital roommate. Death Gatling: a senior hero Stinger respects and follows tactically. Garou: the enemy who crushed his ambush team.

“I’ve already defeated ten of them... the victory is mine!” — moments before the Deep Sea King attacks

One of the few heroes whose exact rank progression (11 → 10) is documented on-page. His hair/spear “bamboo shoot” theme references rapid growth and vitality in Japanese symbolism.
