Crabrante is a Mysterious Being formed when an ordinary man who ate too much crab underwent a grotesque metamorphosis — a bright red, hard-shelled creature with large crab-like claws and eye stalks, whose lower body remains that of a muscular human male. His transformation left him proud of his "beautiful" new body and violently possessive of it: when the young Split-Chinned Kid drew nipples on him with permanent marker while he slept, Crabrante went on a killing spree across the city hunting for the boy responsible.
That hunt is what draws Saitama — then still an ordinary, unemployed civilian — back into the fight after he'd initially decided it wasn't his problem, setting up the confrontation that convinces him to start training seriously. Despite the bloodshed, Crabrante shows a flicker of genuine humanity earlier in the story, telling a depressed pre-training Saitama that he wouldn't hurt someone with such lifeless eyes. He's eventually killed by Saitama in the fight to save the boy.

Despite the beating, Saitama lassoes one of Crabrante’s eye stalks with his necktie and, using his own body weight, disembowels him through the eye socket, killing him and ending the threat.
