Andrew Miller is a high-ranking member of the Los Angeles mafia syndicate that briefly holds a Death Note in 2009. He’s identified by Near and the SPK through FBI records and airport surveillance during the investigation into Sayu Yagami’s kidnapping, and dies in Kira’s mass purge of the syndicate’s leadership — one of 108 names on Near’s identification list.
After the syndicate extorts a Death Note from the Japanese Task Force by kidnapping Sayu Yagami, Near compiles a list of 108 syndicate members using FBI files and surveillance data — Miller is identified as “Number 108” on it. Once Light (acting as the new L) gets that list from Near, he writes every name in the notebook at 11:59 PM on November 10, 2009. Miller dies of a heart attack along with nearly the entire syndicate leadership.
