Pluton

Supporting One Punch Man

Pluton, King of the Underworld, is a Dragon-level Mysterious Being and the sixth of the series' recurring "kings" — and the first to be given an actual name, a reference to the Roman god Pluto, ruler of the underworld (the kanji in his Japanese name doubles as a reading of "pig"). He appears as a gigantic pig-like creature with red eyes, dark skin, and gray-and-red patched skin stitched with tubes running from his nose and neck to his shoulders.

Pluton first surfaces in Z-City before moving on to Y-City, declaring that humanity wastes its existence on decadence and gluttony. Saitama ends the confrontation the way he ends most of them — jumping at Pluton's head and destroying it with a single punch. The character is exclusive to the anime, appearing at the close of Episode 12, "The Strongest Hero."

A mountain-sized, pig-like humanoid with dark leathery skin, a porcine snout with two massive upward tusks, small glowing eyes, and heavy chains around his wrists and neck over primitive dark wraps.

Boastful, arrogant, and nihilistic — sees himself as a divine executor of humanity’s extinction, convinced no hero could possibly stand against a "king" of his scale.

Claims to originate from the Underworld itself, ruling that subterranean realm before rising to “cleanse” the surface of human civilization.

Emerges in City Z and begins inhaling the city’s atmosphere, intending to level it in one exhale, while announcing his title and destructive intent. Before he can finish the speech or attack, Saitama punches him once — he explodes into gore. Hero Association officials later investigate his remains, baffled that a Dragon-level threat was dispatched so quickly. (Appears in a manga side story/special chapter, "Threat Level," rather than the mainline numbered chapters.)

Strong enough to cause city-wide tremors simply walking; capable of inhaling huge volumes of air for a potential devastating exhale; extremely durable against conventional weapons and lower-ranked heroes — none of which mattered against Saitama.

vs. City Z

Arrived and began tearing the city apart in an opening show of force.

vs. Saitama

Tried to intimidate Saitama with his title. One punch ended him — another world-ending threat nobody outside the fight ever found out about.

Major: Special side-story chapter, "Threat Level." Mentioned only: referenced in Hero Association disaster logs regarding the "King" series of monsters.

Saitama: his killer, whom he dismissively called a “pest” moments before his death. The "Kings": thematically grouped with the Subterranean King, Deep Sea King, and Sky King, though he never crosses paths with any of them directly.

“I am the King of the Underworld, Pluton! I have come to drag this filthy surface world down into the depths!”
“Is this the best the surface can offer? A bald human?”

Represents the “Underworld” element in the series’ recurring quartet of elemental Kings (Sea, Land, Sky, Underworld). One of the largest humanoid monsters ever depicted, rivaling Marugori in scale.
