Armonia Justin Beyondormason is the Shinigami Realm’s foremost legal expert — the being other Shinigami, and even the Shinigami King himself, defer to on technical questions about the Death Note’s rules. His most direct impact on the story is advisory: he’s the one who tells Sidoh that Ryuk stole his notebook and took it to the human world, setting Sidoh’s entire arc in motion.
One of the most intricately designed Shinigami in the series — a skeletal body built from bone-like plates and metallic joints, topped with a skull-like head studded with numerous small eye-like sockets. He wears no fabric clothing, his form instead adorned with jewels, chains, and integrated metallic ornaments, and is almost always seated in a massive throne built from skulls and bone, which later gains a rolling, mechanical base.
Calm, professional, and thoroughly bureaucratic — unlike impulsive Shinigami like Ryuk, Justin cares deeply about the correct, lawful maintenance of the realm’s rules. He’s patient and detached when consulted, but pragmatic about his own existence, matter-of-factly acknowledging that killing humans is simply what keeps him alive.
When Sidoh discovers his notebook is missing and the Shinigami King won’t help directly, he’s sent to consult Justin. Justin confirms Ryuk stole the book and took it to the human world, warning Sidoh he’ll face “trouble” over his own lifespan if he doesn’t find a way to write a name soon. He’s occasionally shown watching the human world through the realm’s portals, and reappears years later during the 2019 “a-Kira” incident, observing Ryuk’s return from Earth after that auction concludes.
